Past Generations Made Modern: Minecraft Server List

Playing video games is one of my favorite past times. As with many things, as my kids got older, they followed in my footsteps and began to enjoy video games as much as I do, if not more.

The most exciting day I can remember as a kid was one Christmas when my parents got me a Nintendo Entertainment System. Video games had an innocence about them back then that they don’t seem to have anymore. Sure, there were games about war and the like, but the graphics were so primitive that it was impossible for those games to be graphically violent.

Well, I think I’ve found a return to that video game innocence. It’s called Minecraft, and, although it plays in a three-dimensional world, it also has graphics that are pixelated and are a blast from the past. What’s best about it? My kids love it!

We enjoy it together, and even when I have to go out of town on business, my son and I can jump on the Minecraft server list and play a game online together.

The little bit of money I had to spend in order to purchase this game for us is well worth it. The fact that it does have that innocence about it has led to a number for discussions about the way video games were all the way back when I was a kid. I’ve even gone ahead and bought a reproduced version of the NES, and my kids and I get on that and play it from time to time. They, of course, get bored with it pretty easily, but they were initially interested in the level of nostalgia I felt while playing it.

This, of course, is all thanks to our discovery of Minecraft. It has successfully brought the old school back.
